For New Muslims

New to Islam? Where to Begin

Learn to pray first, then learn to read, with a patient teacher who assumes no background at all.

A new Muslim learning in a private online class

Start with prayer. Quran for Reverts covers it, Noorani Qaida takes your reading further, and Islamic Studies explains the faith at the depth you want.

Where to Begin

Prayer First, Then Reading, Then Understanding

One clear order, so you are not left guessing which course comes first.

  1. Start with Quran for Reverts

Correct pronunciation of the Shahada and Kalima, wudu, Al-Fatiha and the other words of salah with their meaning, and the short surahs for prayer. The Arabic letters are taught alongside, so you do not need Noorani Qaida first.

  2. Then, to read further: Noorani Qaida

Once your prayer is in place, the Qaida builds full reading of the Quran from the letters you have already met.

  3. Alongside or after: Islamic Studies

Belief, the pillars in practice, purification, salah and fasting, and the life of the Prophet, at the depth you want.

Private Classes, and Honest About What We Are

Each class is just you and the teacher. Your family does not need to be Muslim or involved, and everything about your classes, from times to payments, is arranged with the academy on WhatsApp or email. Teachers do not message students privately. Sisters can ask for a female teacher, and we can arrange one at most times.

FAQ

Questions New Muslims Ask

Is this only for people who became Muslim recently?

No. It suits anyone who wants to start from the essentials, however long ago you became Muslim, including reverts who have prayed from transliteration for years and now want to learn properly.

My family is not Muslim. Does that matter for my classes?

No. Classes are between you and your teacher, arranged through the academy, and nobody at home needs to take part or even be in the room.

I feel I should already know more than I do. Is that normal?

Yes, and it is worth letting go of. There is no group to feel behind, and your teacher works from where you actually are, not from where you think you should be.

Can I ask about things beyond the prayer, like fasting?

Yes. Your teacher will answer everyday questions as they come up. For belief, purification, salah and fasting taught in order, Islamic Studies covers them properly, either alongside your Quran classes or afterwards.

Are classes free for new Muslims?

The first class is: a free 30-minute trial with no card needed. After that, classes are paid packages at the same prices as every other course, starting with a package of 8 classes. The pricing page shows them in your currency.
