Overview
What Is the Quran for Kids Course?
Quran for Kids takes a child from wherever they are now to reading the Quran properly. Each child has their own teacher, so a 5 year old learning letters and an 11 year old starting Juz Amma are each taught at their own level, and move on when their reading is ready rather than on a fixed timetable.

What Your Child Learns
What Children Work On at Each Age
The age bands are a guide. A child who starts later, or already reads, begins at the stage that fits their reading.
| Age | What they work on |
|---|---|
| Ages 4 to 7 | Recognising the Arabic letters and their sounds, starting with Noorani Qaida Part 1. |
| Ages 8 to 12 | Completing the Noorani Qaida, then reading from Juz Amma, with basic Tajweed and short surahs. |
| Ages 13 and up | Fluent recitation with full Tajweed, longer memorisation, and a route into Hifz for children who want it. |
The Free Trial
A First Class for a 6 Year Old
Here is how the 30-minute trial might go for a young child who knows a few letters. Your child's will depend on where they are.
Afterwards we send the recommendation and package options on WhatsApp. If you go ahead, classes start within a few days. There is no pressure to continue.
A friendly start
The teacher greets your child and asks a few easy questions. You can sit beside them; for young children we suggest it.
What can they read already?
The teacher shows some letters and asks your child to name or sound them, to find the right place to begin.
A short lesson
The teacher teaches a letter or two your child does not know yet, with plenty of repeating together.
Your questions
The teacher recommends a course and how many classes a week, and answers anything you want to ask.
In Every Class
How the Teacher Keeps a Child With It
One child and one teacher, so the lesson follows your child's attention and pace.
Back over the last lesson
The teacher starts with something your child can already do, which settles them and shows what has stuck.
One new thing at a time
New letters, rules or lines come in small pieces and are repeated until they are secure.
Changing course when needed
If your child is tired or stuck, the teacher slows down, switches activity or goes back a step. There is no class waiting to move on.
Safety and Privacy
Who Your Child Talks To
All communication goes through the academy. Teachers do not message children or parents privately, and every class takes place on Zoom.
You are welcome to sit in on the free trial. It is not required, but for young children we suggest it. You can join any later lesson too, without telling us in advance.
What Parents Worry About
Common Worries, and What We Do
- My child is shy or restless
- Being the only student helps. The teacher can slow down, repeat or change the activity, and in the trial a parent sitting nearby can help a young child settle.
- My child fell behind at weekend classes
- There is no group to keep up with here. The teacher finds the point where your child's reading is secure and builds from there.
- We will miss classes for holidays or exams
- Tell us at least 4 hours before a class and it is made up later, with no limit on make-up classes. A class missed without notice counts, because the teacher waited.
- I want to know how they are doing
- Ask whenever you like and the teacher will tell you, through the academy. We do not send scheduled reports; you get an update each time you ask.

Scheduling
Fitting Classes Around School
School comes first, so choose the calmest slot in your child's day rather than the earliest free one. After school, after maghrib and weekend mornings are all possible, because classes run every day of the week.
Give us the days that work during term time, and ask us again in the holidays if you want to move to a different hour. A younger child often does better with two shorter classes than one long one.
- You choose the days and times
- Classes run 7 days a week. You tell us the days and times that suit you, and we match a teacher who is free then.
- Confirmed in your own time zone
- Your class time is agreed in your local time. The class stays at the same local time for the family. The teacher adjusts. See class times where you live.
- Moving a class
- Let us know at least 4 hours before and the class is moved and made up, with no limit on makeups. Missed without notice? The class counts, because the teacher waited.
- Weekends
- Saturday and Sunday classes are available. There is a small extra per weekend class, listed on the Pricing page.
