Class Times
Find a Class Time That Works for Your Family
Mainland Australia runs on three standard time zones, and only some states put their clocks forward in summer. So tell us your state or city as well as the days and times you want. Every class is then confirmed in your local time, and a family in Perth and a family in Sydney are never booked on each other's clock.
South Australia and the Northern Territory are half an hour off the eastern states, and Broken Hill in New South Wales keeps South Australian time rather than Sydney time. If you live near a state border, tell us which clock your household actually uses.
- Time zone
- Several. Class times are confirmed in your own state's time.
- Moving a class
- Give at least 4 hours' notice and the class is made up, not lost.

How It Works
How Online Quran Lessons Work
Every lesson is live, with one teacher and one student, so the pace is set by the learner, not by a class.
- Live and one-to-one on Zoom
- Just the student and the teacher, with nothing to travel to. Parents are welcome to sit in, and can join any lesson.
- Seven days a week, at your times
- Classes of 30, 45 or 60 minutes, on the days and at the times you choose, always in your local time.
- The same teacher each week
- Usually the same teacher continues after the trial, unless the family asks for a change.
- Taught in English
- All our teachers speak English and Urdu, and several also speak Arabic or Pashto, as listed on each teacher's profile.
Teachers, Checked Before They Join
Before joining, every teacher has their original certificates checked, passes a recitation test and a demo class, and goes through ID and reference checks. Every teacher holds a recognised Quran qualification. Not all are certified by the same board, so each teacher's own qualifications are listed on their profile. You can ask for a female teacher, and we can arrange one at most times.
The illustration is shared by the five women teaching with us, never one teacher's face.
All communication goes through the academy. Teachers do not message students or parents privately. How we keep lessons safe · All our teachers and their qualifications

Good to Know
Clocks and School Terms Differ by State
Checked against official sources.
Daylight Saving in Five States and Territories
New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT go forward one hour on the first Sunday in October and back on the first Sunday in April: 4 October 2026 and 4 April 2027 this time round. Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory stay on standard time.

Half an Hour Behind the East
South Australia, the Northern Territory and Broken Hill in New South Wales use Australian Central Standard Time, UTC+9:30, half an hour behind the eastern states' standard time.

Each State Sets Its Own School Terms
Term 1 2027 ends on Thursday 25 March in Victorian government and Queensland state schools, but on Friday 9 April in NSW and WA public schools, so the Easter holidays start two weeks apart. Catholic and independent schools can differ.

Tasmania Keeps Its Own Year
Tasmanian government schools run Term 1 2027 from Thursday 4 February to Friday 9 April and Term 2 from Monday 26 April, a later start than any mainland state, though Hobart keeps the same clock as Melbourne.

Canberra Shares Sydney's Clock, Not Its Calendar
ACT schools set their own dates: Term 4 2027 runs from 12 October to 17 December, and Canberra Day falls on Monday 8 March 2027. The clock, including the daylight saving Sundays, is the same as New South Wales.

FAQ
Questions Families Ask Us
Do you offer Quran classes for families in Australia?
Yes, in every state and territory. Lessons are live and one-to-one on Zoom, and each class time is agreed in your own state's time, so tell us where you live when you book. The first class is a free 30-minute trial.
Which states change their clocks, and when?
New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT. They go forward one hour on the first Sunday in October and back on the first Sunday in April (4 October 2026 and 4 April 2027). Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory don't change. Wherever you are, your class stays at your local time and the teacher adjusts.
I'm in Adelaide or Darwin. Why is my time on the half hour?
South Australia and the Northern Territory use Australian Central Standard Time, which is UTC+9:30. Darwin stays on it all year, while Adelaide moves to daylight saving in summer, so the two are half an hour apart in winter and an hour apart from October to April. Give us times as they read on your own clock, half hour included.
Term dates differ by state. Do classes stop for the school holidays?
No. Classes run 7 days a week and the holidays are yours to use as you like: keep the usual slot, move single classes with 4 hours' notice, or ask for daytime ones. Each state's term dates are on its own city page, so you can plan the changes ahead.
