Class Times

Find a Class Time That Works for Your Family

Queensland stays on Australian Eastern Standard Time all year, which makes Brisbane simple to plan: a class time agreed today works exactly the same way in January and in July. The clocks that move are the southern states', such as Sydney's, so the only thing to watch is relatives in another state booking at the same time as you.

Time zone
Class times are confirmed in Australian Eastern Standard Time.
Moving a class
Give at least 4 hours' notice and the class is made up, not lost.

Choose your preferred class time in your local time. We arrange a suitable teacher for the time you choose.

Preferred days (optional)

Your preferred class time

5pm

Australian Eastern Standard Time, Brisbane. Your clocks do not change, so the class stays at 5pm all year.

Sunset, for planning around Maghrib: in Brisbane, around 6.40pm in late December and 5pm in late June. Ramadan is expected to begin around 8 February 2027, depending on the moon sighting; sunset is then around 6.40pm, and around 6.15pm by the last days. These are estimates for choosing class times, not prayer times.

A request, not a booking. Send the short trial form, and we reply on WhatsApp within a few hours to agree the day of your free 30-minute trial and confirm the time.

How It Works

How Online Quran Lessons Work

Every lesson is live, with one teacher and one student, so the pace is set by the learner, not by a class.

Live and one-to-one on Zoom
Just the student and the teacher, with nothing to travel to. Parents are welcome to sit in, and can join any lesson.
Seven days a week, at your times
Classes of 30, 45 or 60 minutes, on the days and at the times you choose, always in your local time.
The same teacher each week
Usually the same teacher continues after the trial, unless the family asks for a change.
Taught in English
All our teachers speak English and Urdu, and several also speak Arabic or Pashto, as listed on each teacher's profile.

Teachers, Checked Before They Join

Before joining, every teacher has their original certificates checked, passes a recitation test and a demo class, and goes through ID and reference checks. Every teacher holds a recognised Quran qualification. Not all are certified by the same board, so each teacher's own qualifications are listed on their profile. You can ask for a female teacher, and we can arrange one at most times.

The illustration is shared by the five women teaching with us, never one teacher's face.

All communication goes through the academy. Teachers do not message students or parents privately. How we keep lessons safe · All our teachers and their qualifications

Good to Know

Queensland Time and School Dates

Checked against official sources.

  • No Daylight Saving in Queensland

Queensland stays on standard time all year. When NSW moves its clocks forward on the first Sunday in October, Brisbane falls an hour behind Sydney until the first Sunday in April: this time from 4 October 2026 to 4 April 2027.

  • Term 1 2027 Ends on 25 March

Queensland state schools finish 2026 on Friday 11 December and run Term 1 2027 from Wednesday 27 January to Thursday 25 March, two weeks before NSW public schools break on Friday 9 April.

  • A Long Queensland Summer Break

Queensland state schools break from Saturday 12 December 2026 and go back on Tuesday 27 January 2027, one of the longest summer breaks in the country and a stretch with no school routine to fit a class around.

FAQ

Questions Families Ask Us

Do you offer Quran classes for families in Brisbane?

Yes. Ease Quran teaches families in Brisbane online, one-to-one on Zoom, with class times confirmed in Queensland time, and the first class is a free trial. The same goes for Logan, Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast, which all keep Queensland time.

Are we on the same time as Sydney?

From April to early October, yes. From the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April (4 October 2026 to 4 April 2027), Brisbane is an hour behind, because NSW uses daylight saving and Queensland doesn't. If you book classes for children in both cities, give each time in its own city's time.

We're on the Gold Coast, near Tweed Heads. Which time do we use?

The time your household lives by. The Gold Coast is in Queensland and never changes its clocks. Tweed Heads is in New South Wales and goes forward an hour from October to April, so across the border the clocks differ by an hour in summer. Tell us which side you're on.

The summer break runs from 12 December to 27 January. Can classes carry on through it?

Yes, on whatever days you choose, and you can change the time for those weeks and change it back in late January. If you would rather pause, move classes with 4 hours' notice and they are made up later.
