Class Times
Find a Class Time That Works for Your Family
Rotterdam asks parents to tell the head teacher at least two days ahead when a child will miss school for a religious holiday such as Suikerfeest; moving the Quran class that day needs only 4 hours' notice. Rotterdam and The Hague are both in regio midden, with the rest of Zuid-Holland, where summer 2027 runs from 17 July to 29 August.
- Time zone
- Class times are confirmed in Central European Time.
- Moving a class
- Give at least 4 hours' notice and the class is made up, not lost.

Central European Time, Rotterdam and The Hague. When your clocks change (Sunday 28 March 2027 and Sunday 31 October 2027), the class stays at 5pm your time.
Sunset, for planning around Maghrib: in Rotterdam and The Hague, around 4.35pm in late December and 10.05pm in late June. Ramadan is expected to begin around 8 February 2027, depending on the moon sighting; sunset is then around 5.40pm, and around 6.30pm by the last days. How It Works
How Online Quran Lessons Work
Every lesson is live, with one teacher and one student, so the pace is set by the learner, not by a class.
- Live and one-to-one on Zoom
- Just the student and the teacher, with nothing to travel to. Parents are welcome to sit in, and can join any lesson.
- Seven days a week, at your times
- Classes of 30, 45 or 60 minutes, on the days and at the times you choose, always in your local time.
- The same teacher each week
- Usually the same teacher continues after the trial, unless the family asks for a change.
- Taught in English
- All our teachers speak English and Urdu, and several also speak Arabic or Pashto, as listed on each teacher's profile.
Teachers, Checked Before They Join
Before joining, every teacher has their original certificates checked, passes a recitation test and a demo class, and goes through ID and reference checks. Every teacher holds a recognised Quran qualification. Not all are certified by the same board, so each teacher's own qualifications are listed on their profile. You can ask for a female teacher, and we can arrange one at most times.
The illustration is shared by the five women teaching with us, never one teacher's face.
All communication goes through the academy. Teachers do not message students or parents privately. How we keep lessons safe · All our teachers and their qualifications

FAQ
Questions Families Ask Us
Do you offer Quran classes for families in Rotterdam and The Hague?
Yes. Ease Quran teaches families in Rotterdam, The Hague and the rest of Zuid-Holland online, one-to-one over Zoom, with class times confirmed in Dutch time. The first class is a free trial of 30 minutes.
The clocks go back at the end of the autumn break. Will our class time move?
No. When the clocks go back on the last Sunday of October (25 October in 2026, the last day of the recommended midden break), your class keeps its Dutch time, so a 5pm class on the first Monday back is still at 5pm.
How much notice does school need for Eid, and can we move our class too?
Rotterdam asks for at least two days' notice to the school. For your Quran class, 4 hours' notice is enough to move it or have it made up later, so you can decide once the Eid date is confirmed.
Can we pause classes from 17 July to 29 August?
Yes. Skip or move classes with 4 hours' notice and they are made up later. To stop for the summer instead, let us know a week before the next bill. Packages are billed when used up, not monthly.
Are our school holidays the same as Amsterdam's?
Not quite. Rotterdam and The Hague are in regio midden and Amsterdam in noord, so midden's recommended autumn break and its summer holidays each start a week later (summer 2027: 17 July to 29 August). Christmas and the spring break fall in the same weeks.
